CM Murad Ali Shah Unveils Sindh's 2025 Milestones & 2026 Vision
Sindh CM's New Year Message: Record Homes, Health & Transit

In a comprehensive New Year address, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah extended warm greetings to the nation and outlined a year of unprecedented provincial accomplishments, expressing strong optimism for continued progress in 2026.

Record-Breaking Achievements Across Key Sectors

The Chief Minister presented a detailed review of the Sindh government's performance during the past year. He stated that the province established a world-class health network, described as the largest of its kind globally. In a landmark relief effort for flood victims, authorities successfully completed 1.1 million homes in 2025, a feat he termed a global record. The government now aims to construct an additional two million houses in the coming year, aspiring to set a benchmark that will remain unmatched.

Significant strides were also reported in education and agriculture. The provincial government renovated numerous schools and recruited teachers strictly on merit to elevate academic standards. For the agricultural community, support came through initiatives like the HARI cards, subsidised wheat procurement, and direct fertiliser distribution, providing crucial aid to farmers.

Karachi's Transformation and Cultural Revival

Karachi received special emphasis in the CM's review. He highlighted that addressing the city's chronic water scarcity was treated as a top priority. The inauguration of the Hub Canal and the full budget allocation for the K-IV project were cited as concrete reflections of this commitment.

Beyond infrastructure, the city's soft image was bolstered by hosting a 39-day international cultural festival, which aimed to project Karachi as a vibrant and lively metropolis, moving beyond narratives of fear. On the transport front, the year ended with the launch of a double-decker bus service on December 31, 2025. Looking ahead, the completion of the Yellow, Red, and Green Line Bus Rapid Transit systems is scheduled for 2026. Major projects like Shahrah-e-Bhutto are expected to further transform the city's landscape, positioning it among the world's most livable urban centers.

From Defensive Strength to Economic Ambition

Reflecting on national affairs, Chief Minister Shah remarked that Pakistan demonstrated significant military prowess against larger adversaries in 2025, showcasing the nation's defensive capabilities on the world stage. He characterized 2025 as a year of defensive superiority for the country.

However, he firmly declared that the focus for 2026 would pivot decisively towards economic progress and development. The vision for the new year is centered on fostering growth, prosperity, and new achievements for both Sindh and Pakistan as a whole, building upon the foundational milestones set in the previous year.
