The Punjab government has announced a comprehensive security plan to ensure tight security during Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of Punjab, who directed all law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant and maintain peace across the province.
Deployment of Security Personnel
According to the plan, thousands of police and paramilitary personnel will be deployed at sensitive locations, including mosques, imambargahs, and cattle markets. The authorities have also decided to conduct intelligence-based operations and search operations in various districts.
Measures for Eid-ul-Azha
For Eid-ul-Azha, special arrangements have been made for the security of cattle markets and slaughterhouses. The government has also issued directives to monitor the movement of animals and ensure that no untoward incident occurs during the festivities.
Measures for Muharram
During Muharram, the security will be further tightened, especially during processions and majalis. The government has banned the display of weapons and the use of loudspeakers without permission. CCTV cameras and walk-through gates will be installed at key locations.
The Chief Minister has also stressed the need for coordination between the police, intelligence agencies, and the district administration to thwart any potential threats. He assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure their safety and security.
