JI Leader Denounces US-Israeli Strike on Iran as State Terrorism
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has issued a strong condemnation of the recent United States-Israeli aggression against Tehran, labeling it the worst form of state terrorism. In a press conference held at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the JI Karachi headquarters, on Sunday, he demanded that Islamabad openly side with Iran in response to the attack.
Funeral Prayers and Convention Highlight Solidarity
In a show of solidarity, funeral prayers in absentia for Iran's supreme commander Ayatollah Khamenei were offered at the RCD Ground in Karachi's Malir, Saudabad area, led by MPA Muhammad Farooq. Later, addressing a large convention themed "Death to America, Death to Israel – Life Lies in Resistance" at the same venue, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman declared the day one of grief for the entire Muslim Ummah.
He asserted that the United States and Israel jointly attacked Iran, resulting in the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and members of his family. The JI chief accused the US of long-standing efforts to undermine Iran and topple its revolution, noting historical attempts to fuel sectarian conflicts between Shia and Sunni communities in the region.
Criticism of Pakistan's Leadership and Regional Policies
Hafiz Naeem highlighted Iran's support for Gaza and the Palestinian resistance, while condemning efforts to dismantle Iran's peaceful nuclear program. He pointed out that the US and Israel have carried out two attacks against Iran within a year, pushing the world toward widespread conflict and instability.
In a sharp critique of Pakistan's leadership, he revealed that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif nominated US President Donald Trump twice for the Nobel Prize to prolong his own rule. He lamented that while Trump supported attacks on Gaza, Pakistan's Prime Minister was saluting him, compromising national dignity. The JI chief cited over 80,000 deaths in Gaza and additional casualties in the West Bank, accusing Israel of using bombs that cause human bodies to evaporate, with full US support.
Warnings on Pakistan's Security and Sovereignty
Hafiz Naeem linked Pakistan's current insecurity, bomb blasts, and suicide attacks to what he called "American slavery policies" that have destabilized the country since 2000. He described the situation in Gaza as genocide and warned of Zionist dreams to create a "Greater Israel" including Syria, Jordan, and the Hijaz region.
Urging Islamabad to immediately disengage from harmful war policies, he expressed solidarity with Iran, saluting the Iranian nation for chanting anti-American slogans despite bombardment. He called on Pakistanis to unite in support of Iran and pressure the government to do the same, warning that if the US and Israel succeed in regime change in Iran, Pakistan could be next.
Historical References and Demands for Action
The JI chief criticized the US over its historical record, referencing the killing of Native Americans and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, stating that America has never truly won a war. He demanded that Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be declared war criminals and urged the American public to rise against Trump to prevent US decline.
Mentioning protests outside the US Consulate in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem called for an inquiry into reports that protesters were shot dead and asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to clarify who authorized such action. He concluded with a warning that weak rulers could cause Pakistan to lose its sovereignty if they remain in power.
