Member Punjab Assembly Mian Saqib Khursheed stated that May 28 is a historic and glorious day in Pakistan’s history. On this day, Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif rejected global pressure, threats, and sanctions, making Pakistan the first nuclear power in the Islamic world by conducting nuclear tests in Chagai. He expressed these views while addressing a dignified ceremony held at his residence in Defence View on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer. A large number of party workers, notables, and people from different walks of life attended the event.
Tribute to Scientists
Mian Saqib Khursheed paid rich tribute to renowned Pakistani scientists Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, stating that their dedication, extraordinary capabilities, and patriotic spirit made Pakistan’s defence impregnable. He said the entire nation salutes these national heroes for their unforgettable services to the country. He further stated that the honour, dignity, and strong defence position Pakistan enjoys today are the result of those historic decisions and sacrifices.

Referring to recent developments, he said that under the leadership of Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Armed Forces responded to the enemy with remarkable courage and strategic wisdom, proving to the world that the country’s defence is in safe and capable hands.
Ceremony Highlights
At the conclusion of the ceremony, enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Youm-e-Takbeer Zindabad” were raised by the participants. The event also celebrated Eid-ul-Azha and Whitsun, with attendees expressing their joy and patriotism.
