Hyderabad Police Encounter Results in Fatal Shooting of Two Suspects
In a dramatic turn of events, the Hyderabad police engaged in a deadly encounter near the Abdullah Garden housing scheme, resulting in the deaths of two suspects. The incident occurred within the limits of the Naseem Nagar police check post, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Qasimabad police station.
Police Spokesman Details the Confrontation
Inspector Shahid Usman, the police spokesman, provided a detailed account of the incident on Friday. According to Usman, three police officers, mounted on two motorbikes, signaled the suspects to stop for a routine check. However, the suspects resisted the police instructions and escalated the situation by opening fire on the officers.
Immediate police reinforcement was called in, with a mobile police van dispatched to assist the officers at the scene. During the ensuing exchange of gunfire, both suspects sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the location.
Identification and Criminal Background of the Suspects
The deceased suspects were later identified as Allahyar Malano and Hazar Khan Malano. Inspector Usman revealed that Allahyar hailed from the Kambar Shahdadkot district, while Hazar Khan was a resident of Jaffarabad in Balochistan province.
Both individuals had significant criminal records. Allahyar Malano was reportedly booked in eight cases, including charges related to robberies, possession of illegal weapons, and previous police encounters. Hazar Khan Malano faced five cases, indicating a history of criminal activities.
Police Recovery and Aftermath
Following the encounter, the police claimed to have recovered two pistols and a motorbike from the slain suspects. No police personnel were injured during the firing, as confirmed by the spokesman, highlighting the controlled response of the law enforcement team.
The bodies of the suspects were transported to Liaquat University Hospital for medico-legal formalities, as per standard procedure in such incidents.
Context and Broader Implications
This encounter underscores the ongoing challenges faced by police in maintaining law and order, particularly in urban areas like Hyderabad. The use of force in such situations often sparks debates on police procedures and public safety.
Meanwhile, in a separate cultural development, Basant has returned to Lahore after decades, with announcements of kite sales and free transport arrangements, marking a festive contrast to the tense police operation in Hyderabad.
