Hyderabad city authorities have launched a comprehensive anti-encroachment operation across multiple neighborhoods to reclaim public spaces and ensure smooth traffic movement. The drive is being conducted under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abdin Memon, who has vowed zero tolerance against illegal occupation of public areas.
Major Areas Targeted in Operation
The anti-encroachment team has focused its efforts on several key locations including Ali Palace, London Town, Naseem Nagar, Hussainabad, Wadhu Wah, Neroon Kot, Benazir Bhutto Flyover and the surroundings of Isra Hospital. These areas had witnessed significant illegal occupation that was causing traffic congestion and violating municipal regulations.
During the operation, officials removed numerous illegal structures including unauthorized stalls, cabins, roadside parking setups, showroom encroachments, and restaurant extensions that had taken over public pathways. The clearance work aims to restore pedestrian access and improve overall mobility in these congested areas.
Strict Action Against Violators
Authorities have issued formal warning notices to both citizens and shopkeepers found violating municipal laws. The anti-encroachment team has made it clear that further legal action will be taken against those who continue to occupy public spaces illegally.
The operation is being conducted in coordination with multiple departments including the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC), traffic police, and other relevant authorities. This collaborative approach ensures comprehensive enforcement and prevents future illegal activities.
Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abdin Memon emphasized that encroachments on public spaces will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He confirmed that the campaign against illegal occupation throughout Hyderabad will continue until all public pathways are completely restored.
Ongoing Supervision and Monitoring
The anti-encroachment drive continues under the direct supervision of respective assistant commissioners, HMC officials, and town municipal committees. This ensures proper implementation and monitoring of the operation across all targeted areas.
Officials have decided that regular follow-up actions will be conducted to prevent the re-emergence of illegal structures. The coordinated effort between different government departments represents a sustained approach to urban management and public space preservation in Hyderabad.
