Anti-Corruption Teams Launch Crackdown on BISP Fraud in Sindh

In a significant move to combat corruption, authorities in Sindh have taken decisive action against fraudulent practices targeting the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). This initiative, aimed at protecting the financial rights of deserving women, has led to raids and legal cases in multiple locations.

Nawabshah Raid Uncovers Alleged Illegal Deductions

Acting on directives from Director Anti-Corruption Tariq Solangi, Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Siddiq Loond, along with his staff, conducted a targeted raid on a BISP device holder's center located on Court Road in Nawabshah. The operation was prompted by numerous complaints from women who alleged that device holders were making unlawful deductions from their quarterly BISP installments.

According to reports, several deserving beneficiaries had formally lodged grievances, highlighting systematic corruption that deprived them of their full entitlements. In response, the Anti-Corruption team swiftly moved to investigate these claims. However, upon learning of the impending raid, the device holders reportedly created a panic, locked the center, and fled the scene, evading immediate apprehension.

Qazi Ahmed Police Register Case Against Fraudulent Holders

In a parallel development, Qazi Ahmed Police have registered a formal case against five BISP device holders involved in similar corrupt activities. These individuals are accused of deducting money from the BISP installments of deserving women, further underscoring the widespread nature of this issue.

Authorities have emphasized that investigations are currently underway in both instances. They have assured the public that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in these corrupt practices, reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy towards fraud targeting social welfare programs.

This crackdown highlights ongoing efforts to safeguard BISP funds and ensure they reach intended beneficiaries without interference. The Anti-Corruption department's proactive measures demonstrate a commitment to transparency and accountability in government assistance programs.
