Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi emphasized that this initiative marks a crucial development for Pakistan's railway sector. He noted that it could significantly expand trade opportunities and strengthen regional linkages.

A detailed network plan has been prepared, aiming to link Karachi Port directly to Kazakhstan. This network is intended to bolster trade flows and provide Pakistan with a seamless rail connection to Central Asia.

The proposed network is also planned to extend through Chaman, creating links to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. This expansion would further enhance the project's reach and impact.

The Pakistan-Kazakhstan Rail Connectivity Project is estimated to involve a cost of $7 billion. It is expected to be completed within a three-year timeframe, positioning it among the largest railway initiatives currently under consideration in the region.
