Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs recently organized a Shariah training course in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for more than 60 imams, preachers, and Islamic studies students. The initiative, announced on July 4, 2026, is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to promote Islamic knowledge, foster the values of moderation, and develop qualified religious personnel.
Course Details and Objectives
The training featured a series of sessions designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of Islamic scholarship and enhance their preaching and teaching skills. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the course aimed to promote a sound understanding of Islam based on the principles of moderation while enhancing the capabilities of imams and preachers to carry out their religious mission effectively. It also sought to reinforce the values of mercy, tolerance, and moderation in their communities.
Part of Global Dawah Programs
The course is part of the ministry’s educational and dawah programs, implemented in cooperation with Islamic institutions and religious authorities worldwide. These programs aim to promote knowledge of authentic Islam, develop qualified religious personnel, and reinforce the Kingdom’s mission to serve Islam and Muslims while promoting the values of moderation. The training in Sarajevo underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Islamic communities abroad through capacity-building initiatives.
