In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom stands with Syria in its fight against extremism. It offered condolences to the families of the victims and to the Syrian government and people, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

Syrian state media reported that an explosive device detonated at a crowded cafe near the Palace of Justice in central Damascus. The blast killed at least nine people and wounded dozens.
