Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran to attend the funeral prayer of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Iranian Defence and Interior Ministers, along with senior civil and military officials, received the Field Marshal at the airport.
High-level Pakistani delegation in Iran
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also arrived in Iran, accompanied by key members of the federal cabinet. Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi will likewise participate in the funeral ceremony of the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader.

It is worth recalling that on 28 February 2026, the United States and Israel launched an attack in Tehran, destroying Ayatollah Khamenei's compound. As a result, the Iranian Supreme Leader was martyred along with several other senior officials. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from Pakistan and other nations.
