According to official statements issued in Islamabad, the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is aimed at reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran and advancing regional stability. Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the memorandum as a major diplomatic achievement made possible through cooperation among several international and regional stakeholders. He acknowledged the contributions of countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt, as well as negotiators from both the United States and Iran.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei indicated that discussions regarding diplomatic engagements linked to the process were still ongoing. Baqaei also noted that Tehran had not yet finalized participation in upcoming talks in Brussels, highlighting continued consultations on future diplomatic engagements. He added that any future Iranian delegation would be led by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
