On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, her adviser Zeeshan Malik, accompanied by senior officials, visited the homes of the children who lost their lives in the roof collapse of a private tuition centre in Lahore's Kahna area on Tuesday. Zeeshan Malik offered condolences to the bereaved families in an atmosphere filled with grief and sorrow. He consoled the families during their difficult time, saying, “we are with you”. He said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is deeply saddened by the tragedy and assured the families that the provincial government would extend every possible support. He added that the affected families would not be left alone during this difficult period.
Death Toll and Rescue Details
At least 14 children were killed and several others injured after the roof of a private tuition academy collapsed in Kahna. According to the Punjab Health Minister, the death toll from the tragic incident has risen to 14. Rescue officials said around 20 to 25 people, including a female teacher and mostly young children, were inside the tuition centre when the roof caved in.
Government Response and Crackdown
Meanwhile, in a separate development, CM Murad orders strict crackdown on wheat hoarding and profiteering to prevent artificial shortages. The Punjab government is taking measures to ensure stability and support for affected communities.
