Three people lost their lives after being overcome by poisonous gas while attempting a rescue inside a well in village Phattwali-28 on Tuesday. According to rescue sources, the tragic incident occurred in the nearby village of 28 Phattwali after a goat fell into a well.
Sequence of Events
A man climbed down to rescue the animal but lost consciousness after inhaling toxic gas. Two other men then entered the well one after the other in an attempt to save him. However, they also suffocated after being exposed to the poisonous gas and died inside the well.
Rescue Operation
Rescue teams rushed to the scene as soon as the incident was reported and launched a rescue operation. Rescue officials said efforts were underway to retrieve the bodies of all three victims from the well.
In a separate development, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered a strict crackdown on wheat hoarding and profiteering to prevent artificial shortages in the province.
