The funeral prayers of Sub-Inspector Umair Hassan, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident on the Murree Expressway, were offered at Police Lines Rawalpindi on Friday. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of police officials, colleagues, and citizens.

Deputy Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Raza Tanveer Sapra; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob; Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters; Sub Divisional Police Officers; Station House Officers; and other police personnel were present to pay tribute to the deceased officer's services to the department.

Incident and Career

According to a police spokesperson, Sub-Inspector Umair Hassan was critically injured in a traffic accident while traveling on the Murree Expressway. Despite medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries. The late officer joined the Punjab Police in 2014 and was serving at Kotli Sattian Police Station at the time of the incident. During his career, he performed his duties with dedication and professionalism.

Survivors and Support

He is survived by his mother, wife, two sons, and a daughter. Senior police officers met the bereaved family and expressed their heartfelt condolences, assuring them of the department's full support during this difficult time.

Funeral and Burial

After the funeral prayers, the body was shifted to his native town of Alipur Chatha in Wazirabad Tehsil, where he was laid to rest. Speaking on the occasion, DPO Murree Raza Tanveer Sapra said the police department stood firmly with the family of the deceased officer and would continue to support them. He added that Sub-Inspector Umair Hassan's commitment, sacrifice, and valuable services for the police force would always be remembered.
