The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has introduced a two-month communicative Arabic language program specifically designed for non-Arabic-speaking cabin crew members at Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia. This initiative is part of an agreement between KSGAAL and Saudia aimed at enhancing language skills within professional work environments.
Program Objectives and Structure
The program focuses on developing core language skills, enabling participants to use Arabic in work-related situations. It aims to improve communication with passengers and facilitate service delivery across various work settings. The curriculum is tailored to the needs of cabin crew, emphasizing practical vocabulary and phrases used during flights and airport interactions.
According to KSGAAL, this initiative is part of a series of specialized language programs implemented in cooperation with various entities across different sectors. The academy supports Arabic language learning and expands its use in professional settings.
Broader Initiatives
Earlier this month, KSGAAL participated in the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair, showcasing its projects and initiatives to promote the Arabic language globally. The Saudi pavilion allowed visitors to explore the academy's programs for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, language qualification initiatives, and efforts to develop Arabic digital content and computational language processing.
The academy's collaboration with Saudia underscores its commitment to strengthening Arabic language skills in the aviation industry, a key sector for Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. This program is expected to enhance the overall passenger experience and promote cultural exchange.
