Netflix Cancels 11 Shows in 2026 Including The Lincoln Lawyer

Netflix has continued its trend of reshaping its original programming slate in 2026, with at least 11 series either cancelled or confirmed to be ending. Among the most notable titles affected is The Lincoln Lawyer, which Netflix confirmed will conclude with its upcoming fifth season.

Based on Michael Connelly's novels, the legal drama became one of the streamer's most successful series, spending 29 weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 and attracting more than 170 million views across four seasons. Executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez confirmed that the final season is already in production and will adapt Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in the series. The pair said they were grateful to have the opportunity to deliver a satisfying ending.

Several other projects have not been as fortunate. Western drama The Abandons was cancelled after one season despite an initially strong debut. Creator Kurt Sutter publicly criticised the decision and argued that streaming platforms increasingly prioritise algorithms over creative vision.

Animated series Terminator Zero also came to an early end. Creator Mattson Tomlin had previously outlined plans for a five-season story, but acknowledged that viewership numbers ultimately were not high enough to continue.

Comedy series The Vince Staples Show was another casualty. Although critics praised the semi-autobiographical series and audiences responded positively, it failed to reach Netflix's weekly Top 10 rankings.

Reality and unscripted programming also faced cuts. Pop the Balloon, Selling the City, and Neil Patrick Harris-hosted game show What's in the Box? are not expected to return.

Other projects ending in 2026 include Indian teen drama Class, Tyler Perry's political series Miss Governor, and documentary programme F1: The Academy. Lifestyle series With Love, Meghan reportedly will not return for a third season, although special episodes are expected instead.

Netflix co-chief executive Ted Sarandos previously explained the company's approach to programming decisions. Speaking to Bloomberg in 2023, he said successful shows are matched with budgets appropriate to the size of their audience.

The complete list of Netflix series ending or cancelled in 2026 currently includes:

  • The Lincoln Lawyer
  • The Abandons
  • Terminator Zero
  • The Vince Staples Show
  • Pop the Balloon
  • Selling the City
  • With Love, Meghan
  • Class
  • Miss Governor
  • F1: The Academy
  • What's in the Box?

With several months still remaining in the year, the number of cancelled shows could continue to increase as Netflix evaluates future renewals.
