Pakistan's most-followed TikToker, Jannat Mirza, has publicly condemned cyberbullying and online harassment, urging stronger measures against individuals who target women on digital platforms. Mirza took to Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of an individual she alleged was involved in online abuse, alongside a message calling for greater accountability.
Mirza's Statement on Harassment
"I've received messages from multiple people regarding the same individual allegedly targeting different women, attacking their dignity and engaging in harassment," the influencer wrote. She emphasized that as a public figure, she felt it was important to speak out and raise awareness about such behavior. "People who choose to harm, intimidate or humiliate others should be exposed and held accountable for their actions. Silence only enables this kind of conduct to continue," she added.
Call for Government Action
Mirza stressed the need for stronger measures to protect women online, stating that no woman should be subjected to harassment or character attacks without consequences. She also called on authorities to take strict action against those accused of online abuse. "The government must take the strictest possible action against such individuals and make examples of them, so others think twice before attempting to damage someone's reputation or honour," she wrote. The TikToker also tagged the Punjab chapter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in her Instagram Story.
