Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have reportedly resolved more than $2 million in debt claims related to the construction of their luxury New York estate, clearing a major hurdle for the long-delayed project.
Settlement of Claims
According to recently satisfied mechanics liens, a combined $2.1 million in claims filed against the couple's Lewisboro, New York property was settled as of May 26. The claims were previously filed by multiple contractors and subcontractors who alleged they had not been paid for work completed on the estate.
Property Details
The property, situated on approximately 110 acres, has been under development for several years and is expected to feature a 14,500-square-foot main residence along with a pool house, gym, geothermal systems and other high-end amenities. The debt claims emerged in April when five contractors and subcontractors filed liens against the project, raising questions about the future of the construction.
Project Status
With the claims now reportedly resolved, the path appears clear for work on the estate to continue. Lively and Reynolds have been involved with the property since 2018, when they reportedly acquired the land through a limited liability company. The project has long been viewed as a personal undertaking for the couple, who have largely kept details of the development private.
During a local planning board meeting in 2022, Lively reportedly described the community as 'heaven' and expressed enthusiasm about moving forward with construction plans.
No Public Comment
Neither Blake Lively nor Ryan Reynolds has publicly commented on the reported settlement of the claims. It also remains unclear when construction will officially resume on the property. The estate is expected to become the couple's long-term family home once completed, adding to their real estate portfolio and marking the culmination of a project that has been years in the making.
