Ariana Grande Slams White House Over Song Use in Immigration Video

Ariana Grande has publicly condemned the White House for using one of her songs in a video promoting the administration's immigration policy. The 14-second TikTok clip featured officers, including ICE agents, handcuffing and arresting individuals. According to the BBC, the video originally played Grande's 2024 song "Bye," but the audio has since been removed. The caption read: "Bye-bye President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history."

Grande's Response

On Thursday, Grande commented on the TikTok video, writing: "Please do not use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense." Her comment appears to have been hidden. In response, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told CNN in an email: "We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens."

Political Stance

The "Wicked" star has previously expressed her political views, wearing an "ICE OUT" pin at the Golden Globes in January. CNN has reached out to Grande's representatives for further comment. President Donald Trump has faced backlash from musicians like ABBA, Adele, and John Fogerty for using their music at campaign rallies. This is not the first time a celebrity has objected to Trump using their music in videos of federal arrests. A previous White House and Department of Homeland Security Instagram video, encouraging people to "LEAVE NOW and self-deport," featured Olivia Rodrigo's song "All-American Bitch."
