The 17th Dorian TV Awards nominations have been unveiled by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, with Heated Rivalry, Hacks, Pluribus, The Pitt, and Half Man emerging as the biggest contenders. Heated Rivalry and Hacks led the field with multiple nominations across major categories, solidifying their status as two of the year's most acclaimed series.
Leading Contenders
Both Heated Rivalry and Hacks received nods for Best Written TV Show and Best LGBTQ TV Show, while their stars also earned acting recognition. In the Best TV Drama category, Heated Rivalry will compete against Industry, The Gilded Age, Pluribus, and defending champion The Pitt. On the comedy side, Hacks faces stiff competition from Abbott Elementary, Shrinking, Widow's Bay, and the returning The Comeback.
Limited Series and Breakout Performances
The limited series race is headed by Half Man, with Beef, DTF St. Louis, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, and All Her Fault also securing nominations. Creator Richard Gadd and star Jamie Bell both picked up individual nods for Half Man. The nominations also recognized a number of breakout performances: Heated Rivalry stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams both earned acting nominations, while favorites including Noah Wyle for The Pitt, Rhea Seehorn for Pluribus, and several members of the Industry ensemble were also recognized.
Queer Critics' Perspective
“Ultimately the Dorian TV Awards are about queer critics deciding, collectively, what television did right,” GALECA vice president Gerrick Kennedy said in a statement. “The shows leading our nominations this year — Heated Rivalry, Hacks, Pluribus, and Half Man — aren’t just excellent television, they’re queer at their core.”
Presented annually by the 565-member organization of LGBTQ entertainment journalists and critics, the Dorian Awards celebrate both mainstream and queer-focused programming. Winners of the 2026 awards will be announced later this summer.
