Cheating Crackdown: Two Candidates Caught, Impersonator Held in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Authorities caught two candidates red-handed while using unfair means, besides an impersonator attempting to sit an examination on behalf of another candidate during the First Annual Intermediate Examinations in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan revealed while conducting inspections of several examination centres. He disclosed that two candidates were caught using unfair means at the Government Higher Secondary School examination centre in Jalalpur Sharif, Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan, District Jhelum. In a separate incident, an impersonator was apprehended while attempting to sit an examination on behalf of another candidate at the Government Islamia High School No 4 examination centre on Liaquat Ali Road, Rawalpindi.

Awan, speaking on the occasion, said disciplinary cases had been registered against all three candidates and referred immediately to the Board's Discipline Branch for further action in accordance with examination regulations. Meanwhile, stringent measures are continuing to ensure a transparent, orderly and malpractice-free examination process during the First Annual Intermediate Examinations.

Under a strict zero-tolerance policy towards cheating and examination irregularities, comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to safeguard the credibility of the examinations. Continuous monitoring of examination centres is being carried out under the supervision of the Rawalpindi Commissioner and Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi.
