Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government's strong commitment to providing comprehensive facilities for the global Sikh community visiting Pakistan's holy sites. The announcement came during a significant meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Strengthening Ties with the Sikh Community
During his meeting with Jasdeep Singh, President of Sikhs of America, the Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan takes pride in maintaining numerous sacred Sikh sites and Gurdwaras. He personally welcomed the Sikh leader and assured that his government would develop a concrete strategy to enhance the welfare of Sikh community members in Pakistan and improve facilities for international Sikh pilgrims.
Government's Comprehensive Support
The high-level meeting was also attended by Law and Justice Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Pakistani-American businessman Sajid Tarar. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that Pakistan ensures warm hospitality for Sikh pilgrims who travel from across the world to perform their religious rituals at the country's sacred religious sites.
The government is committed to developing additional facilities and creating a more welcoming environment for Sikh visitors. This initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan's position as a significant destination for religious tourism.
Recognition of Diaspora Contributions
While discussing broader national development, the Prime Minister acknowledged the vital role played by the Pakistani diaspora in the country's progress and global recognition. He emphasized how overseas Pakistanis contribute significantly to the nation's development and prosperity.
In response, Jasdeep Singh expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Pakistani government for their exceptional hospitality and the warm reception extended to Sikh pilgrims visiting the country's holy sites.
