Lahore witnessed a significant intellectual gathering as scholars, students, and citizens convened at Alhamra Hall 3 for a symposium exploring the creative thought behind Islamic Renaissance. The event, jointly organized by Idara-e-Saqafat-e-Islamia, Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, and the Pakistan Philosophical Association, focused on tracing the intellectual journey from Allama Iqbal to contemporary thinker Dr Burhan Ahmed Farooqi.

Prominent Scholars Share Insights on Iqbal's Philosophy

Dr Akram Chaudhry presided over the session while Executive Director Alhamra Mahboob Alam Chaudhry attended as the Chief Guest. In his address to the audience, ED Alhamra emphasized that true success lies in self-purification and spiritual discipline, highlighting the timeless relevance of Islamic principles in personal development.

Dr Burhan Ahmed Farooqi delivered a compelling argument that spiritual growth must accompany institutional reform for meaningful progress to occur. His presentation connected classical Islamic thought with contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world.

Diverse Perspectives on Creative Thought

The symposium featured contributions from numerous distinguished scholars including Dr Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq, Dr Abdur-Rauf Rafiqi, Dr Javed Iqbal Nadeem, Dr Saima Aram, Dr Khizar Yaseen, and Dr Absar Ahmed. Each speaker explored different dimensions of Iqbal's philosophy, consistently emphasizing that following Iqbal's vision remains crucial for the Muslim Ummah to regain its lost glory.

All speakers agreed that Iqbal's thought continues to serve as a guiding light for Islamic renaissance in the modern era. They discussed how his philosophical framework provides solutions to contemporary challenges facing Muslim societies worldwide.

The session was skillfully moderated by Naveen Roma of Alhamra Academy, while student Zahid Hashmi enriched the event with a poetry recital that reflected the themes under discussion. The program concluded with ED Alhamra Mahboob Alam Chaudhry presenting commemorative souvenirs to all guest speakers and participants, acknowledging their valuable contributions to this important intellectual dialogue.
