Pakistan Showcases Economic Potential at Expo 2024

BEIJING – Pakistan participated in the 10th China-South Asia Exposition (CSA Expo) and the 30th China Kunming Import and Export Fair, currently being held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. This participation underscores Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation, trade, and investment ties with China and the broader South Asian region.

Pakistan Pavilion Inaugurated

Ambassador Hashmi, together with Ms Yang Yang, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion, one of the key attractions of this year’s exposition, as reported by China Economic Net (CEN). The event forms part of a series of activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

Strong Participation

Pakistan maintained a strong presence at the expo, with 130 companies and 327 exhibitors participating across a wide range of sectors. This robust turnout reflects the growing momentum of Pakistan-China economic cooperation and the increasing interest among Pakistani businesses in accessing the Chinese market and exploring new commercial opportunities.

Cooperation Forum

On the sidelines of the expo, Ambassador Hashmi addressed the 7th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, held under the theme, “Strengthening Partnership for a Community with a Shared Future for Neighboring Countries.” The forum brought together senior Chinese officials, provincial leaders, ministers and representatives from South Asian countries, members of the diplomatic corps, and business stakeholders.
