The Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan, Irena Gancheva, has declared that the sixtieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations presents a perfect opportunity to deepen their partnership, with a strong focus on boosting economic and trade links.
A Call for Enhanced Collaboration
Speaking at an event hosted by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Ambassador Gancheva emphasized that while a solid foundation for cooperation already exists, it is now the right moment to actively seek out new and promising areas for mutual economic benefit.
Existing Framework and Future Plans
The ambassador highlighted the existing Joint Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Cooperation as the primary bilateral mechanism. This commission, which was established in 2015, has already held productive sessions in both Sofia and Islamabad.
She also shared that the third session of this commission is scheduled to take place in Bulgaria next year. Ambassador Gancheva expressed a strong hope that Pakistani business representatives would participate actively in the upcoming event to maximize its potential.
Proposing a Business-to-Business Forum
Looking ahead, the ambassador put forward a significant proposal to further strengthen economic ties. She stressed the need for a dedicated business-to-business forum to be organized alongside the next session of the Inter-Governmental Commission.
This forum would create a direct channel for entrepreneurs and companies from both countries to connect, explore partnerships, and finalize deals, complementing the government-level discussions.
