Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi Inaugurates Business Facilitation Centre in Lahore
Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi officially opened the Business Facilitation Centre at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore on Monday. This new initiative is designed to bring substantial improvements to the freight, logistics, and commercial operations of Pakistan Railways by ensuring greater speed, convenience, and transparency in all dealings.
One-Window Facilitation for Investors and Businesses
According to a press release issued from the headquarters, Minister Abbasi highlighted that the centre has been specifically designed to provide one-window facilitation to investors and business entities. This system will enable them to receive prompt guidance and swift decisions without unnecessary delays.
Abbasi emphasized that individuals and organizations conducting business with Pakistan Railways will now be treated as business partners rather than mere clients. He assured that whenever investors or business representatives visit the Business Facilitation Centre, they will be properly welcomed, and a designated officer will attend to them immediately, eliminating any waiting time.
Promoting a Modern Business Model
The railways minister mentioned that the establishment of this centre marks an important step towards promoting a modern business model within Pakistan Railways. It aims to foster transparent commercial decision-making, increase revenue generation, and enhance the confidence of the private sector in the organization.
He added that the centre will serve as a central point of contact for all matters related to freight, logistics, and commercial partnerships, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
Commitment to Reforms and Sustainability
Reaffirming the government's commitment, Hanif Abbasi stated that Pakistan Railways will continue to implement comprehensive reforms. These reforms are aimed at transforming the organization into a progressive, investor-friendly, and financially sustainable national institution.
This move is part of broader efforts to revitalize Pakistan Railways and make it more competitive in the market, ultimately contributing to the country's economic growth and development.
