In a decisive move to reclaim state land, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) carried out a significant anti-encroachment operation in Islamabad's Sector G-15/3 on Thursday, December 19, 2025. The action was taken on the directives of the FGEHA Director General and marks a critical step in resolving long-standing land issues to facilitate development.
Operation Details and Key Officials
The drive was executed under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner FGEHA, Ms. Almas Sabih Saqib, and Director Security FGEHA, Colonel Azhar Saeed. A dedicated team of officers ensured the operation's success, including Mr. Tanveer Jamal (Assistant Director Technical), Mr. Muhammad Ilyas (Deputy Director Enforcement), and Ms. Javeria Naseem (Deputy Director Technical). The PR Wing of FGEHA was also present to document the proceedings.
The primary goal was to permanently remove illegal structures and obstacles occupying government land. These encroachments were identified as major hindrances to the ongoing development activities planned for the sector. The administration clarified that this operation is a key component of a broader strategy designed to settle all land-related disputes, thereby ensuring the early transfer of possession to rightful allottees.
Rapid Infrastructure Development Progress
Simultaneously, infrastructure development in Sub-Sector G-15/3 is advancing at an impressive speed. The project, with a PC-I approved cost of PKR 1,453.866 million, has already achieved 40.02% physical progress and 38.10% financial progress. The consultancy is being handled by NESPAK, while MSK International is the executing contractor.
Significant milestones in the development works include:
- Completion of road asphalting.
- 100% installation of electric pole foundations.
- Activation of transformers and LBS (Load Break Switches).
- 85% completion of the East Service Road.
- 60% completion of the North Service Road, with remaining work progressing swiftly.
Project Scope and Future Handovers
The ambitious project encompasses a wide range of facilities aimed at creating a complete community. The scope includes:
- Residential and commercial plots.
- Parks and designated green areas.
- A mosque and a school.
- Comprehensive sewerage, water supply, and drainage systems.
- Street lighting and a Sui gas network.
To date, possession of 404 out of a total of 1,120 residential plots has been successfully handed over to the allottees. The FGEHA administration expressed strong confidence that once the remaining land-related issues are resolved through such enforcement actions, possession for all remaining allottees in Sub-Sector G-15/3 will be granted in the near future. This operation underscores the government's commitment to safeguarding public land and accelerating housing projects for its employees.
