KARACHI: Gold and silver prices in Pakistan recorded a decline on Thursday, mirroring a downturn in international bullion rates. In the global market, gold dropped by $23 per ounce to settle at $4,305, exerting downward pressure on domestic prices.
Gold Prices in Pakistan
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola fell by Rs2,300 to Rs452,936. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold declined by Rs2,070 to Rs387,615.
Silver Prices in Pakistan
Internationally, silver prices fell by $1.44 per ounce to $68.80 per ounce. Consequently, in local bullion markets, the price of silver per tola dropped by Rs144 to Rs7,359, while 10 grams of silver decreased by Rs123 to Rs6,268.
Previous Day's Trend
On Wednesday, gold prices in Pakistan had risen following an uptick in the international market. The price of gold per tola reached Rs455,236 after gaining Rs100 during the day. Likewise, 10-gram gold was priced at Rs389,685, up by Rs85, as per rates released by the APGJSA.
Tuesday's Suspension
On Tuesday, the association did not announce gold and silver rates after calling for a protest against alleged raids on jewellery shops.
Monday's Sharp Increase
On Monday, the price of gold per tola had climbed to Rs455,136 following a sharp increase of Rs10,800. Internationally, gold rose by $1 to $4,328 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver prices dropped by Rs6 to Rs7,503 per tola.
