A 14-member delegation from the Balochistan Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (B-TEVTA), headed by Managing Director Hamood Ur Rehman, recently visited the Punjab Skill Development Fund (PSDF) in Lahore. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into Punjab's technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system.
Exposure Tour Objectives
The visit was organized as part of an exposure tour to Punjab that took place from 15 to 19 June 2026. The delegation aimed to study how Punjab manages its skills sector, including the integration of institutions, quality assurance of training, industry engagement, and the linkage of trainees with employment opportunities.
Briefing by Punjab Officials
During the meeting at PSDF, Secretary of the Skills Development & Entrepreneurship Department (SD&ED) Nadir Chattha briefed the delegation on the department's operations. He highlighted several initiatives taken to align the TVET sector with local and international job markets, with a strong emphasis on trainee job placement.
Adnan Afzal Chattha, Chairman of the Chief Minister's Task Force on Skill Development, welcomed the delegation and elaborated on how Punjab's skill development bodies collaborate to train young people. PSDF Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Khan also provided an overview of the fund's role in delivering skills training across the province.
Scheduled Activities
During their stay, the delegation was scheduled to visit several leading training institutions in Punjab. They planned to meet with heads of major skills organizations and observe training sessions for various groups, including IT professionals and trainees from diverse backgrounds.
Strengthening Inter-Provincial Cooperation
Officials noted that the exposure visit reflects a constructive spirit of learning and cooperation between Balochistan and Punjab. The initiative aims to strengthen the skills sector and create better job opportunities for young people throughout Pakistan.
